Late-summer figs, split and ready
Figs arrive for only a few weeks at the end of summer, dusky purple outside and jammy pink within. This design is rich, warm and a little decadent. It suits a kitchen full of wooden boards, olive oil bottles and good bread.
The design
Three whole figs and one split half show off their deep purple skins and seed-speckled pink centres. Broad, lobed fig leaves spread behind them in layered greens. The painting is rich gouache on a warm cream ground.

Care
- Wipe the glazed face with a damp cloth and a little mild soap
- Let the cork dry fully; do not soak the tile or put it in the dishwasher
- Not a cutting board: knives can scratch the glaze
