A meadow flower and a folded tile

Great burnet is a wildflower of old hay meadows, with small, tight flower heads the colour of fired brick. We loved that colour so much that it became the ink of our whole brand. The second half of our name nods to the way a tile sits folded into daily life: under the pot at dinner, back on the shelf by bedtime.

Why we started

Most trivets are made to be hidden in a drawer, and most decorative tiles are too precious to use. We wanted one object that did both jobs well. So we paint every design ourselves, print it onto a glazed ceramic tile and finish the back with a full cork pad.

Three collections, twenty-one designs

  • Azulejo Blues draws on the blue tiled walls of Portugal and Spain: rosettes, ships, star knots and birds.
  • Sun-Ripe Fruit fills the kitchen with lemons, figs, pears, cherries, olives and blood oranges.
  • Farmhouse Morning brings roosters, hens, teapots, jam jars and a kettle on the boil.

Every design is original artwork created for Burnetfold. You will not find these images on anyone else's tiles.

What we care about

  • A standard, practical format: one 8 x 8 in square that suits most pots, pans and teapots.
  • Honest descriptions and photos that show the tile both in use and on display.
  • Easy returns and a real person answering your email.
