Azulejo Blues · A split pomegranate ringed with scrolling vines
Pomegranate seeds and a ring of vines
The pomegranate has been a symbol of plenty on tiles and textiles for centuries, and it still feels generous today. A touch of plum makes this design richer than a pure blue. It looks especially handsome under a copper pan or a dark stoneware pot.
The design
A pomegranate split open to show its seeds sits in the centre with two leaves, circled by a wreath of scrolling vine tendrils. Small buds in plum and cobalt anchor each corner. The palette is cobalt, manganese plum and white.
