Azulejo Blues · A three-masted ship on curling waves, delft style
Set sail from the stove top
Old Dutch kitchens were lined with small blue tiles of ships and harbours, a daily reminder of trade winds and far-off ports. We painted a galleon of our own in that spirit. It is a fine choice for a coastal home or anyone who likes a story on the wall.
The design
A tall ship with billowing sails rides a band of scalloped, curling waves, while a few gulls wheel overhead. A scalloped border frames the scene, with small shells tucked into the corners. Cobalt linework and washes sit on white, with the soft shading of hand-painted delftware.
